Spaceball is a fun and simple game families and friends can enjoy
together for
hours at a time. It combines many of the skills of volleyball and
basketball with
the added thrill of the trampoline. A great recreational activity that
is literally "played in space." Anyone can learn to play almost
immediately, you just bounce and throw the ball through the hoop.
In the 1960's, George Nissen developed a game that could be played on
the trampoline and named it "Spaceball." His intention was to create a
game that was not only fun, but easy to learn and didn't require
training or coaching. Spaceball is designed with optimal safety
measures in mind so that the focus is on playing the game, not on
performing acrobatic maneuvers.
- Easy to learn, fun to play
- Fast-paced action
- Hours of fun for the whole family
- Improves aerobic conditioning
- Increases endurance, balance, & coordination
- Burns calories and improves physical fitness
The object of the game is to throw the ball through the basket in such
a way as to make your opponent drop the ball. Players can time their bouncing
and throwing to offset their opponent's ability to catch the ball. The player with
the ball can also fake a throw to catch the opponent off guard. A point is scored
when the ball is dropped. The serve always goes to the person who lost the last
point.
Initially, NASA Astronauts played the game for physical exercise to
condition their bodies for space travel. With the introduction of
George Nissen's latest design, now everyone can enjoy hours of
Spaceball fun.

The unique design of the trampoline includes padded platforms on each
side. In addition, the trampoline is specially designed to accept
additional Spaceball components. |

The backstops provide an additional bouncing surface that adds exciting
strategy to the game and a new dimension to jumping on a trampoline.

The Gantry holds the basket hoop where the ball is tossed through and
also keeps the players safely separated. |
